In short

Callum Gibbs Plumbing & Heating offers Peace of Mind Surveys across Swindon and Highworth, mainly for new homeowners who want reassurance that the plumbing and heating in their new property is working as expected. It is a visual and functional check of key items, followed by a simple report.

This is the right page if you have

  • You have just bought or are about to move into a home
  • You want to know the plumbing and heating is working before the first winter
  • You have noticed a small drip, a cold radiator or a slow tap and want it looked at
  • You would like the findings explained in plain language

Need a gas appliance checked? Ask about gas engineer work

Moving into a new home, it is hard to know whether the plumbing and heating is in good order. A Peace of Mind Survey is a straightforward visual and functional check of the key items, so you know where things stand before something goes wrong.

I check for visible leaks, test the taps and basic plumbing fixtures, check the radiators and bleed them where appropriate, and look over the plumbing and heating components in general. I look for anything that appears not to be working correctly or may need attention, and I explain what I find to you in plain language.

Afterwards you get a simple report. It lists any issues I found, the items that appear to be working correctly and any remedial work I would recommend.

This is a practical peace-of-mind service. It is not a gas inspection, a certificate or a safety check on gas appliances, so if you want a gas appliance looked at, ask about gas engineer work as well.

What happens next

Booking peace of mind surveys

  1. You call or send the details

A call suits a breakdown. For anything else, the form is fine: the more detail and photos, the better.

  2. I talk it through with you

I'll get back to you to ask anything I need and talk through what I think the job involves.

  3. I book you in

Let me know which days suit you best. If it is something I can't help with, I'll tell you straight.

  4. The work, explained

Once the work is finished, ask about anything worth keeping an eye on and I'll explain.

Useful to send or have ready

None of it is required, but it means the first conversation can be a useful one.

  • Your postcode
  • Roughly how old the property is, and the type of heating it has
  • Whether you have already moved in or when you complete
  • Anything you have already noticed, such as a leak, a cold radiator or a noisy pipe

Photos help most: the boiler front, any fault code and the problem itself. Email them to cgphbusiness@gmail.com.
