Peace of Mind Surveys in Stratton St Margaret

I cannot say what yours will show until I see it. In a house of that period I look hardest at taps, the seals under sinks and radiators that no longer heat evenly.

Yes. It is about 4 miles from my Highworth base at SN6 7NS, and homes in the SN3 postcode are covered. Send me your address details when you enquire.

The same items are checked, but the findings will be your own. Previous owners fit new taps, move radiators and alter pipework, so neighbours who started identical often end up with different results.

It does not. Nothing in a Peace of Mind Survey amounts to a gas inspection, a certificate or a safety check on gas appliances, so if you want the boiler looked at from the gas side, that is gas engineer work to arrange on its own.

Both rooms get the same attention. A newly fitted bathroom deserves a check for leaks at connections, and an untouched kitchen may show wear at the taps and waste.

A newer build is less likely to show age-related wear, but fitting snags and unbled radiators can still turn up. The report will tell you which parts appear to be working correctly.

I go round each one, feel how it heats and bleed it where that is appropriate. The ones that stay cold or only warm at the bottom are written up so you can see the pattern for the whole house.

Mention it when you enquire and I will plan around it. It is a small detail, but it is easier to sort out beforehand than on the doorstep.

I explain what I find in plain language during the survey, so nothing in the written report should come as a surprise. The document then gives you a lasting record to look back on.

It is my suggestion for what is worth putting right, based on the issues I found. It is advice rather than an instruction, and you are free to take it to me or anyone else to carry out.
