Boiler Installation for Lydiard Millicent Homes

Possibly. An extension adds radiators and heat loss, and the original boiler may now be working hard to keep up. The whole house, including the newer rooms, is worth looking at before choosing an output, rather than assuming the old size still fits.

Usually because the pipe from the boiler or cylinder to the tap is long. With a combi, the cold water in that pipe has to clear whenever a tap is opened. A different boiler position, or a cylinder nearer the bathroom, can help, and it is worth talking through what is practical.

Often that is simplest, as the gas, water and flue connections are already there. The flue position still needs checking against current clearance distances, along with the condensate route, because a spot that suited an old boiler does not always suit a modern condensing one.

Yes. It is about 7 miles from Highworth, and nearby Purton, Haydon Wick and Royal Wootton Bassett are all covered too, so the west side of Swindon is well within reach.

It depends on bathrooms and how hot water is used. If two or more showers often run at once, a system boiler with a cylinder generally copes better. If it is mostly one shower at a time and the mains supply is good, a correctly sized combi can work well.

Over time, heating water picks up rust particles and sludge that settle in radiators and pipework. A flush pushes cleaning water through the system to clear this out. If your system shows signs of sludge, cleaning it before a new boiler goes on is something to ask about when you get in touch.

Yes. Older radiators can be undersized for modern expectations or partly blocked. Checking that they heat evenly shows whether any might hold a new boiler back, so you can decide what to do about them.

Yes. A programmer and thermostat can be set around your routine and changed later as your hours shift. Getting the timings right makes a real difference to comfort and to how long the boiler runs each day, so mention your routine when you get in touch.

Directions if the house is tricky to find, where to park, and whether the loft and airing cupboard are easy to reach. Photos of the boiler, its flue outside and where the gas meter sits are also useful beforehand.

Then the reasons need setting out, for example if the flue position no longer works, the gas pipe is undersized or the boiler type does not suit the household. Ask and I'll explain the options in plain terms so you can decide with the full picture.
